Being skilled in Visio is like being skilled in MS-Word. You can either use
it or you can't. The fundamentals will come to you immediately.

Something I have noticed with clients is that they have laid off too deep
and then end up having to use jr. staff or rehire staff with the same
constrained budget to manage their systems and network. As a result these
companies are still running their networks but with less qualified staff at

The 2500 is a descendant of the IGS series router. Think of the IGS as the
grandfather of the 2500 with the 3000 being the father of the 2500. The IGS
is just the generation of the IOS in this case (for the most part.)

Why don't you troubleshoot it? Get sniffer out, turn on some debugs on the
switch, watch some LEDs - get off your butt and do some foot work.

Wrong.
PIX stands for Private Internet Exchange. You are thinking of IPXchange.
Cisco briefly had a box that it bought that converted IPX to IP for internet
connectivity.

VXR = voice exchange. VXR routers have a TDM bus in them.

Check your subnet masks. Your Linux server is sending to a broadcast
address which would indicate that there is a machine configured with the
broadcast address of a subnet - not a host address. And yes - some OSs
allow that.

They run 12.x. You can netboot the box too.

You dont shut down the interface. Just remove the 'ip nat outside' or other
such necessary command from the interface. It's far less affecting to the
router to remove the nat command than it is to shut down an interface which
would possibly cause a change in the route table, forcing calculations
What kind of Ethernet cards did you put in there? You can't put just any
brand of ethernet NIC in there.

Depends on what you plan on doing on them. If you are going to be doing
mostly layer 2 switching then I would leave them hybrid. If you plan on
routing each port on each switch then definitely go native.

Check the permissions for the user you logged on with to the ciscoworks
And check the java settings in the web browser too I have passed with
this kind of problem but it was solved by this way as it's mainly

Try to make the logging source to the loopback of ur router
But in this case do u mean the ciscoview or you are trying to get a log
from the router
Better check with router log if it already catches the snmp auth.
Request from the ciscoworks
If it doesn't so there is a problem on the server
