You need a parity chip. The 16MB parity chip will say 4x36 somewhere on it. If it says 4x32, it is not parity. A good bet is to go around to a couple of those storefront computer shops and ask them if they have any old Compaq memory. A Compaq 16MB SIMM will work just great in a 2501. You can
