This is what I have discovered while preparing for the CSIDS exam a while
back. I was using a CSPM 2.3.2i eval copy.
For CSPM standalone mode, you need to have NT 4.0 SP6a and IE 5.5. I
installed IE 5.5 SP2 to get it working on the NT box. You won't be able to
install CSPM (standalone mode) if
The IP address is assigned to the command and control interface. The
monitoring interface does not have IP address assigned to it.
On a simple network setup, the monitoring interface is connected to the
segment where the router connects to the firewall. You will need to turn on

Hi,
Has anyone tried this command?
area 1 nssa default-information-originate metric-type 1
This is the effect on one of the routers in the NSSA.
O*N2 0.0.0.0/0 [110/1] via 192.168.2.66, 00:27:33, TokenRing0
I was expecting to see O*N1. Is the above output correct?
Thanks.

Hi Georg,
I am using IOS12.1.7 and it allows me to issue this syntax:
area area-id nssa default-information originate metric-type 1
On IOS 11.x, it only allows me to issue this:
area area-id nssa default-information originate
If I leave the metric-type 1 off, I will get *N2 for the default ro

Good luck.

You can also try using the IP Filtering feature from Windows NT/2000. It

Hi all,
I meant to reply earlier but was busy with work. Finally, managed to

Thanks to all who replied and especially to Chris who confirmed that it is a

Has anyone worked on the new PIX 515E? What is the use of the additional

the card. Was wondering if I can remove the card and put in two single port

Thanks.

Hi all,
I am unable to find from the archive the discussion on the 5-4-3 rule.
What is the definition of a segment for 10BaseT? How can I apply the 5-4-3
rule in a 10BaseT network? I attended a Novell class a few years back and
was taught that in the 10BaseT network, it makes use of a "modifie

Has anyone tried managing PIX FW from CiscoView v5.3? When I try to do
that, I got an error message stating that I need to install the correct
