Catalyst 6506 and 3548xls

i am attempting to configure a 6506 with and 8prt GBIC i wish to have 2 3548xls uplinked to the 6506 via gigabit.  i am unable to get any of the interfaces on the *new* 3548xls to come up.  i did a no shutdown and it comes up and goes right back down. what am i missing here. even if i simply

6506 Vlan and layer 3 switching question

i have a 6506 with a 48prt 10/100 blade i wish to configure 6 ports on one subnet (vlan2) and the rest on another (Vlan1) and use the supervisor to route between the two vlans.  does anyone have any sample configs on how to do this.  so far i have created the two vlans and assigned the ports.

3548xl and vlans

i have a 3548xl and wish to create 2 vlans.  is this possible.  i was able to create the 2nd vlan but cant find the command to add ports to the vlan.  any help would be apprecieated.

HSRP Resources?

i have two locations with (2) T1s between them i wish to set up HSRP so there is a standby router at each location.  the standby router would be connected to the backup T.    does anyone know of anywhere i can get most importantly, diagrams of this type of set up. i am not sure if what i wan
