I had the same problem once and it turned out to be the cable. It was not
seated 100% into the DTE side and it seemed to be working but the line
protocol would not come up. Pull the cable then plug it back in again.
Worst case replace the cable!

is not a lot of material
I heard that that they plan to increase the number of racks in the near

I took it a few days back. I didn't study for it much.
I just finished the CCIE written a month or so ago and I relied on much of
the study from that, as well as the fact that I am a Network Designer all
day long...
It was very strange indeed but I was pleased with it, I think I may even

I sat the beta earlier today, it seemed fine other than the fact that the
title was wrong. It said Cisco VPN Beta Exam.
This was my 8th Cisco exam and it was by far the best written. I was pleased
with it.

I have been tasked by my HR people to find out what
sort of money Senior Network Administrators should get paid! I was wondering if
anybody has any related articles or links to collect some
information.
I am not wondering what people make specifically ,
I am looking for averages in areas.
Hello all,
I tried that ISDN "trick" using a single BRI. I
tried to have my two B channels call one another. I was using two 1003 routers
and a Motorola NT1 ( I really didn't fell in the mood to drag my two 2610's down
to the office!!)
I have a backup ISDN connection at our datacentre

I have an AGS+ that I am using for my CCIE lab? I
only have one problemI don't have any serial cables for it!
I have 12 serial ports - 2 are DB-25 types (
I have DCE cables for these!)
I need to find some of those "other"
cables?
Thanks in advance

This may sound a bit off bit I remember seeing an article on Microsofts site
about protocol bindings and Outlook/Exchange. I used to do this at a place I
worked a year ago but I forget what the key is? Basically from what I
remember - the IP protocol was last on the list so the client-server
I heard from one Cisco person that the books would not be in the lab only
the CD.
He told me when the IOS we upgraded to 12 that the lab would be all CD and
no text.
This guy would know...

One of my co workers gave me a 4000 series router for my CCIE lab. When I
boot it I get:
System Bootstrap, Version 5.2(11a), RELEASE SOFTWARECopyright (c)
1986-1995 by cisco SystemsFailed sizing main memory
Anyone know what this means? Or how to fix
it?
I am writing the CCIE next week. Any recent writers
have any advice!
I have already completed the CCNP May/99 and have
about 4 yrs working with Cisco gear and 8yrs Networking.

I passed CCNA. CCDA, CCNP and MCSE without ever attending a class. ( Well I
did attend one Microsoft course but they didn;t teach me anything I didn't
already know about NT?)
It's easy to do if you have the time and experience. I have 8 yrs as a
network admin. Working with Cisco, 3Com, Bay etc.
