Hello
The Sup1 will support two 100Mbps connections, either fibre or UTP/MII from
memory depending on supervisor model.
I'm pretty sure that the Sup1 supports ISL trunking, but find out how much
memory the Sup1 has - if it is 8MB, you are limited in the versions of CatOS
you can run to about 2.3
Two scenarios:
1) End point --- NAT --- IPSec --- IPSec --- Endpoint
2) End point --- IPSec --- NAT --- IPSec --- Endpoint
Ignoring fancy tricks, scenario 1 will work whereas 2 will fail.
IPSec encapsalates the IP address within the encrypted packet, so if there
is a NAT device in the IPS
Hi
It has been a while since I've touched a 5000 but...
Can you ping the syslog server from the Cat?
If not, you may need to add a route so that the console knows how to get to
the syslog server (set ip route ...)

Hi
My advice is the following:
- Troubleshooting requires knowledge of other three topics so it should be
done last
- Depending on your experience, do the exam you think you are strongest in
first, it's always nice to get the first one chalked up and to get
comfortable with the exam format.

Hi
Used one many years (95/96) ago before upgrading to a Cat5000. It is a 8 x
10BaseT, 1 x FDDI DAS/2 x FDDI SAS switch - designed primarily as a FDDI
concentrator.
This is a CatOS device, but the software I used is of a very low revision of

In addition to Thomas's comment's, if you are not using auto-negotiation on
a switch connected to a Sun NIC, the Sun NIC will default to only detecting
the speed - duplex will be set to half.
If you want to manually set the speed and duplex on a Sun NIC, check out
Sun's website for the required c

This is dredging into the distant past, but I encountered a similar password
sync error with a Windows NT domain - the domain had "User must logon to
change password" selected. Once this was changed, all was well - it also
fixed a few Outlook/Exchange e-mail issues as well.

Have you checked on Stonebeat's site? They have a number of articles

Things to check:
- are there any access lists or firewalling software preventing multicast
traffic between the routers and "disconnected" switch?
- are any of the switches "stacked"? If so, ensure software versions are
compatable.
- are there any duplex issues between switches. In parti
Hello
I'm after a sanity check on my understanding of traffic shaping. In
particular, traffic shaping on a Cisco 2500 running IOS 11.3.
On my providers Internet router, they have the following command on the
Serial0 (connection to ISP), Ethernet0 (connection to local LAN) and
Ethernet1 (unused)
