Bill,
FST is supported only when the end systems reside on Token Ring. Two FST
peers can connect over High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC), Ethernet, Token
Ring, FDDI, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), or Frame Relay.
I believe FST can cross Ethernet but only for the purpos

No the CIT-606 Beta ended March 18,2002. :>(
But, candidates who registered for the old CIT 506 exam prior to
05Jun2002 have until 17Jul02 to take it.
So, If you have are not currently registered to take the old exam - you
mush take the new CIT 606 replacment. :>)

Not A Problem,
Since you are doing all the work yourself, I suggest you search "cisco.com"
for all the Boot register settings.
To write flash:
Router(Config)#config-register 0x2101 - then reload.
After reload, check to make sure (sh ver) last line should say
'Configuration register is 0x2101'
Brad is right, if your flash is bad, you will not be able to write to it. It
may write a little or not at all, then fail.
I also had this troiuble with a bad copy of ios (.bin) file that was corrupt.
