6000 Hybrid vs Native [7:35216]

Personally, I like and prefer the Native IOS. Especially now that the 2900/3500s are using an IOS (instead of menus, or set/show commands). I know of two huge companies in this area that are using 6500s left and right with Native IOS and have no problems. HTH, Mike W. Message Posted at: http:

We have 2 6509's with Native and 4 with "set based". I really like the Native. When you are jumping around between 3500's and 6500's it is nice to have a common IOS. We have had no issues with the native and few with "set" based. I here Cisco is working on phasing out the "set" IOS, so it may be a

I have been running Native IOS on 6509 for about 6 months, and no problems. The onyl thing that I found cumbersome was the intial change from Hybrid to Native. I personally like it the Native IOS. Keeps me from trying to remeber whether or not I need to use set commands when moving around if ot

Sorry to spoil the party but I've had a problem with IOS on 6Ks. With version 12.1(3a)E4, using the console port would put the switch into rommon mode, the switch would keep running but you couldn't config it, it's a recognised bug I think. Apart from that though I think it simplifies things by ha
