Ive never worked with ATM before and would like to
start playing with it in my home lab. Do I need to
buy an LS1010 (or LS100) or can I do all the
configuration stuff that is necessary with an MC3810?

You can run two routers with ATM cards back-to-back. You need a switch for
three or more.
