Speaking of terminal servers. Anything wrong with a CiscoPro 2511? I mainly want it as a terminal server, and having it rack-mounted is much nicer than a 500-CS. Sell claims "Running Cisco IOS Version 11.0(16) - Flashed to use Standard Cisco 2511 Images." Any other limits on the Cis

Is their a way to tell, like using sh version for example to see if a CiscoPro has been upgraded to normal IOS? I am not sure what in a "sh version" gives it away as being a ciscoPro. Brian --- Brian Feeny, CCNP, CCDP [EMAIL

Hi They are basicly the same in all of the series. Sometimes they need a little hardware upgrading, i.e. bootPROMs, flash, DRAM. You can buy a copy of IP only IOS off the Internet for about $10 (www.onvia.com) for the 2500 which includes the CiscoPro upgrade which will allow the pros to run any

The CiscoPro boxes were sold through distribution. They had specific IOS versions. You cannot just load a new IOS on the box. There is a utility program on CCO that converts a CiscoPro into thinking that it is a Cisco. http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/rsl Most had 4 MB of Flash. Best
