I'm awaiting the delivery of a 6509 w/dual MSFC's and would like to
configure HSRP and HA between the two. Must HA and HSRP be configured
simultaneously? It seems from my reading that HA will provide redundancy
between the supervisor engines and HSRP will provide the routing redundancy

High availabilty on the sup engine does provide a true physical redundancy.
There is also a high availability option for the MSFC itself that can be
used in conjunction with HSRP. This sets one of the MSFCs as primary and
the other in standby,... but be careful in the catIOS verisions fo
