Can anyone shed some light on "Options" in the IP Packet. On CCO, it is said
that they can used for security etc. Also how can we filter packets based on
"option types".

As far as cisco, I can't imagine being able to filet on options type. I can
only think of the following examples to classfiy/filer on:
dscp
ip prec/tos
cos
input int
SA
DA
access-group
mpls
or or protocol as defined in NBAR
