Hi all: I need information about any software to detect intruders, so I heard something about NetRanger, which is used for intrusion detect, but i don´t know if this software is in my Cisco IOS or is independent. How can I know it?, is It really efficient for this purpose? Anybody had used this

I recently talked to Cisco TAC and they verified that you need at least a "run-time" version of HP OpenView to run the NetRanger Sensor Management Console, and it is not included on the Management CD. My question is, can you get the OpenView runtime version free somewhere or is this

I am looking for somebody who has used NetRanger before. Is it true that you can, using software from the Director CD, turn any Sun workstation into a Sensor? If so, has anybody ever done this, and were there any problems, or does this new sensor behave exactly like one bought from Cisco? I
