Does anyone know about any software package that monitors a network so

if any router(s) goes down the support Engineer is automatically paged.

If you looking for a good NMS you can always use CiscoWorks,
although I've only read about it I know it uses rmon/snmp to monitor a
network. As for paging cababilities I wouldn't know. You can always read
the docs.

We are currently using this one to monitor all the routers, switches and
unix server (about 20 of them) over the network, the alert is thru external
modem to the nextel phone

We use WhatsUp Gold. For the paging we use pagers that can accept
alphanumeric email pages (like Arch).
