Which is why from what I have heard/read (and visiting the web site) that
you should bite the bullet and buy the lab scenarios from Marc Russell.
They have been argued as the best lab prep material for the very reason
t them yet but I will be in the early new year.

Yes the Hutnik book is a good one to incorporate. It covers quite a few
areas of routing, and many labs can be done with only four routers.
For voice stuff, at this point you may want to consider using Cisco Config
Maker, put together some simple voice connections, and study the resulting

I think that the most telling statement you've made is that Cisco knows
about the book, and hence the lab proctors do too. So logically, this book
alone will not be enough to pass the lab.

It is woefully inadequate for use in CCIE prep. If you use this book as
your main "lab prep" you will be in utter shock the day you step into the
lab.

Just my $0.02
I have the book...have used the book and it's probably worth the money
if your experience is somewhat limited or perhaps deep in certain areas
and shallow in others. It's very basic though...it introduces you to
many commands and appropriate show and debugs to make sure you've got
yet but I will be in the early new year.
