debug ip packet
dont do it on a production network or anything that is passing a "buttload"
of traffic
of course, you can always clear the interface counters and take a look at
them to see if the interface is passing traffic (or not)

Not sure specifically what you are trying to test but you can be selective
and with a
'debug ip packet detail ACL Number/Name '. Make up a ACL of what traffic
you're 'curious' about but obviously you need to judge if debugging this ACL
will cause your router to get knocked unconscious.
Warning:
Show interface would work. If your counters are increasing and
you're not generating traffic from the router then this
indicates traffic going through the router.
You could also turn on ip accounting. In my experience that's
not intrusive and it would give you more detail. Yet another
optio
'sh int' will give you five minute input and output rate and lots of other
valuable info.
