How do you define active ? Communicate in the last minute ? 5 minutes ?
I would certainly start with a "show ip arp". It will show all IP
addresses the router have talked with in the last 4 hours. If this
router is the default gateway for all the host on the LAN segment, you
should be very
do
debug ip arp
clear arp
make sure you set the scroll buffer on your terminal client to about 8
times the amount of hosts .
this will tell you all the hosts the router can see and you can watch all
the
"where ARP thou's " do there thing..
