I've never used a 1700, but if the command set is Cisco IOS, then use "debug
dialer". That should do the trick for you.

i think debug dialer should tell you the required information. Make sure you
have explicitly defined the traffic that is permitted to initiate the dial
connction.

1. Better u can enable the Debug options in the router and u can check.
2.We already faced the Same Problem( Continous dialing). Check any one
of ur server Running DNS. Some times DNS updates will trigger the Call,
for that u can use some access list.
