Cisco Works for Windows is basically Whats Up Gold with Cisco View. It's pretty much a waste of money if you ask me. It's not very reliable and your Log viewer refreshes periodically erasing your entire screen for a couple of seconds. There is no way to highlight an event so you can see which

No for that purpose it doesn't matter if you disable console or buffer logging, in my opinion. Do you see the messages in the file the syslogd on the server is writing into? (cat syslog.file | grep name_of_the_device_you_are_looking_for) if yes, check for filters in the CW syslog analysis setup.
