spantree and portfast

I have spantree enable and portfast enable on ports that clients/workstations are connected to. Should I also have "set spantree portfast bpdu-guard enable" also and what does that do. The reason I ask is because some clients are reporting that their ip address does not renew via dhcp automatica

Scott, What type of switch ports are you connecting to, do they support channeling and trunking. A show port capabilites will tell you this, if so, turn trunking and channeling off for these ports. set trunk mod#/port# off set port channel mod#/port# off bpdu-guard enables a port to go into an
