All, I am connected to the console port on a router that is sitting next to my laptop. I have to upgrade the IOS on the Router. I have a copy of the IOS on my laptop. When I try to send the image over to the router using TFTP it doesn't work. I must be missing something. What am I doing wrong?

If you're plugged into the console port on with your laptop, you need to use XModem to transfer the IOS image. Just keep in mind that it's a blazing 9600bps, so it'll take a while, especially if your IOS image is large. =) Mike W. Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7

Is the laptop connected to the console port or the ethernet interface? TFTP won't work over a console connection. If you're using the ethernet port there are still a few things that can go wrong. Are your laptop and router directly connected? If so, are you using a crossover cable? Can your r
