Is it generally done to exchange ipv6 info with bgp peers defined only by ipv4
router ids?
Ie:
Router bgp 65001
Neighbor 1.2.3.4 remote-as 65001
!
Address-family ipv6
Neighbor 1.2.3.4 activate
... or to carry v6 info over v4 network ?

If you can get CDP/LLDP information, that's good. If you can't (not all
vendors support this), you can still find these links. Hint: look at
the other side instead (the switch). The idea is that if the switch
forwarding table has only one entry on a given port, and that entry has

I would guess the 2T is going to show up next year. Get with your account

Chris,
We had something similar happen here. After replacing multiple modules,
we ended up replacing the chassis. Hopefully, you will not need to do that.
To determine if the problem is on just one module or many, run the

Nothing that cannot be avoided (mostly, that is) by planning explicitly the
placement of ports in lacp/pagp groups vs. subint-fannout/access ports vs.
inter-chassis links, so as to avoid the port asic--fabric channel some ports

Heya folks...
I've connected a switch of mine to a provider's switch, and I'm getting

Is this just a harmless warning? I'm not doing any VLANs with them.
Their connection is going into a 3550 that has just had the nvram

Well, you said the 3550 has had its nvram erased and is running a default
config, so all of its switch ports are in vlan 1. I am guessing the other
switch has its port in a different vlan. Even if both ports are in access
mode, CDP will generate native vlan mismatches if their configured access
