We are looking for amplifying 40/100G connections for longer distances than
the 25km distance Cisco have on their products.
Do you guys have any suggestion of some alternative to EDFA/Amplification
that works on 1290->1330nm optics, that is not around 30k+ USD per lane?

Me3600 is a good box when you dont run anything in it... Try running
EoMPLS, vrf with dynamic routing, and so on, and it will crash sooner
AND later.

Its a pretty common behaviour since all machines read from different places
on the EEP rom.
Normally it is Cisco ASR that reports from a different place of EEP.
The SFP is a LH/LX optics, but reports as a ZX.
Example:
NAME: "GigabitEthernet 0/7", DESCR: "1000BASE-ZX SFP"
Sounds about right when trying this on other devices (with broken fans)
when swapping to new, you have to be fast when swapping them.

Looks like you are putting in some 3rd party optics.
Insert this in your config:
service unsupported-transceiver
and it will work!

When you buy Cisco, you get what you pay for.
I would recommend ASR9k instead of 900 as a bigger machine.

There is no possibility for that, we also got that range on our 7600's.
Why do you want to specify bandwidth?

Just read the CSC, it seems like nothing happends with the "running",
except some commands will be "unrunnable"
*Symptom:*
n7k running nxos version 6.2.6 and configured for detailed ip acl logging
(logging ip access-list detailed) fills up /var/tmp part of the disk which
affect system cli.
I might be wrong, but isnt SHDSL based on VFI/VC?

i would suggest that you schedule a downtime.
Copy everything to a cf-card and shut the machine off and change it.
Dont play around with these machines.

I got a ASR1001 with a constantly growing "tracelogs" folder. The space on
disk is not an issue, its more of annoying when i get my rancid updates.

Are you running some xconnects on these or just simple interfaces?
A good thing is to move the xconnects (if there is any) from interface to
service instance, this makes the machine to not learn mac-addresses.

If you are using a regular 3750, you cannot configure any mpls feature in
it.
