[cisco-voip] Curiosity: New IP Communicator

I'm assuming no on this question, based on the fact that I haven't heard even an inkling, and I know they're working on multi-line support for Jabber, but I was wondering: Has anyone heard anything about them possibly coming up with a new IP communicator that is based on the 8800 series code? I

I can see it maybe just because BIB for recording still isn’t supported as far as I recall. That and some organizations just don’t want to deal with the compliance issues of an IM platform. But I do agree with you on both points. Ben Amick Telecom Analyst From: bmead...@gmail.com [mailto:bmead.

My understanding is that the answer is "No," to updated IP communicator. I am also not sure of the true commitment to multi-line Jabber support. I have yet to see any dates around multi-line Jabber at this point, which my experience with Cisco say's don't count on it or expect it. Dennis Heim

There have been a few updates to CIPC in the last couple of years, but I haven't read the release notes as to what, so someone has been spending a bit of time on the code. I've seen a lot of contact centers use CIPC, I don't see it going away soon. On Tue, Feb 28, 2017 at 11:21 AM, Heim, Dennis

I’ll raise my hand as one of those contact centers. Right now it’s because of the two reasons I mentioned in a parallel chain: a need for multiple lines and the BIB for QM recording. The former is on the roadmap for jabber (with no ETA), but the latter as far as I’m aware still isn’t a part of J
