I decided to run all of the tests located at testvirus.org against my mail

How can I set up clamd to run when the system loads?
I am using Yes Linux 2.0.11 (based on RH9)
I probably should mention that I am trying to setup clamav, clamassassin
procmail to filter viruses, if that helps at all.

and now everything seems to start OK, but it doesn't do anything...

First, check where is your clamd executable file.
Then add this line to your /etc/rc.d/rc.local file:
$PATH_TO_FILE/clamd wich in my case is /usr/local/sbin/clamd.
