I may be the most fortunate Gleevec recipient of all. My wife's
insurance (she is a teacher) has a drug plan through Caremark. When I
was on 400mg/day, a 90-day supply cost $30. Now I am on 800 mg/day and
the $30 copay is waived!

There are several wish -granting organizations for adults. some are
for young adults, others may have other specific criteria, age ranges,
etc.. Talk to the oncology social worker at your treatment facility,
who also may know of local programs, and/or programs for children of
cancer patients.
FYI, Volunteers in Healthcare, which runs the RxAssist.org website on
PAPs, has created a chart outlining drug company decisions regarding
Part D and eligibility for their assistance programs . The chart is on
their website, www.rxassist.org on the " Provider Center" page:

and tired.
I am lucky in that when I was diagnosed in 2-02, Gleevec was just

Hi John,
This $2500 copay is only once a year. Then I have met my deductable for the year and the all my meds are free for the rest of the year. It's still a lot of money for me as I am retired and live on a small SS pension. My secondary insurance pays for my meds and I am on Medicare. I did
Jeanie,
WOW! $2500 co-pay. I am lucky I guess, my total copay is 62.50 for a
90 day supply. Although when I talked to a insurance rep the other day
about the problem of the Gleevec not being shipped (With no reason
explained, I am giving them a 21 day notice and have no problem signing
