It is true that a PCR test can be run on peripheral blood, but I believe that bone marrow analysis is generally considered to be more accurate, and there is additional information that can be gleaned from BM. From my reading, after you have been on Gleevec for a year or so and have good numbers,

I agree my doctors have told me to totally stay away from Aspirin, I am 500mg/ 7.5 of Loritab 3 times a day for my pain and it REALLY helps. Hi Laura and Jo Ann, I would not freak out to much about this news about Gleevec( like I did yesterday..lol), I mean you saw how fast they pulled that painkiller a few months ago cause of problems, so if it was really bad they would be pulling Gleevec faster than the oil companies raise gas prices.
