For portlights, use cast acrylic. Mine are bronze color, but yours may be
different. For adhesive, the choices are Dow 795, Silpruf and a Sikaflex.
The first two are cheap and require no special tools.

I just did a name change last year.
Thankfully the previous owner used decals, they were easy to take off.
The bigger issue was cleaning down (white) gelcoat enough to remove shadows.
One very nice tip I'm sure I saw here on the list group was to have an auto
signage place make up the decals -
I had a local Fastsigns franchise do mine. If you're design-savvy and can use
some sort of program like Illustrator, you can send them an EPS file, and their
computer-controlled vinyl cutters will give you back exactly what you sent in.
One other trick I used: when I purchased and renamed my

The active ingredient in the stripper for PolyGlow and Newglass is ammonium
hydroxide.
As a tip from a friend who works at a boatyard, I learned that they use
Purple Power purchased from the automotive section at Wal-Mart for $2.98 a
gallon instead of the PolyGlow stripper, which is something

Sam,
Contrary to Poly Glo recommendations I used Poly Glo on the decks. Over
time the Poly Glo became stained with air pollution and looked quite bad.
Thus, my need to remove it.

I also used a local Fast Signs. I had a custom logo artwork electronically.
For a nominal fee they tweaked it, converted it to several formats and gave me

Nice thing about using them is the logo is scalable. 56 inches for the boat,

I word of caution. If you use oven cleaner to remove Poly Glo from your deck
be careful oven cleaner is caustic and can burn. When we remove it from our

chemical burn. Yes yes I was there too but I was using a

PoliGlow doesn't standup to foot traffic.
