I like having a tach but for $20 you can get a portable laser-tach from
amazon. Make sure that the idle is always less than 1000 rpm. Only shift
with the throttle all the way down. Then on the top end of the RPM range

Just watched the big osprey try to land on another masthead. He was not
successful. When he tried to land I saw something fall. I hope it wasn't the
wind instrument breaking off.

get a new traveler, well worth it. A cost effective solution is Garhauer's
traveler. Lots of users on this list, I'm one of them and a happy user. If
you send the old rail to Garhauer, they will drill the holes in the correct
place, no charge.

especially inside, that you get from the C&C. But they sail well and are pretty
comfortable. I like tiller steering for smaller boats. You don't need the
leverage from a wheel to turn the rudder.
