3,000 RPM on my 37' with a 3HMF (27 HP) with a Martec folder would be a great
day. Closer to 2,700 RPM. Which is too low for these motors IMHO

Gelcoat is basically a two part resin that has pigment. When you buy the
gelcoat it comes with the hardener. To spray it you will probably have to
thin it...follow the directions on the can. I like the gelcoat solution
cause it can be polished.

Gelcoat will stick on its own. You have to add MEKP (methyl ethyl ketone
peroxide) to get the gelcoat to harden.
Also, gelcoat isn't fond of sticking to epoxy. It prefers to stick to
polyester or vinylester resin.

I never applied any gelcoat, so I have a very basic question. I understand that
if you apply gelcoat you have to add something to make it stick (or if it is
already in the gelcoat, the stuff would deteriorate in the can on its own). So
the question is, what do you add and how much?

When I got my “new” boat last spring, I had intermittent starting problems.
The yard mechanic told me that in his experience these were caused by bad
grounds most of the time. Sure enough, when I cleaned the ground connections

The water here rarely gets above 45F, a little chilly for diving unless
you have a dry suit etc.
I'll see if I can find a diver that will do it for a reasonable amount.

Here in Beaufort South Carolina we have to clean the bottom every three to
4 weeks otherwise it fouls the bottom. If you hold for 5 weeks here you
will start getting hard growth. Do like I did and learn to do it your
self. You can save a lot of cash and know the job is done right. My C&C30
MK1 can

It is colder out here, but at least I don’t need to clean the bottom more often
than once a year at haul out.
