I know others twist them but to me they are more of a tripping hazard when
twisted and not in use.
My 2 cents

A couple of tips: Jacklines should be twisted so they don't lie flat on the
deck. Makes them easier to pick up. And they should be as tight as practical;
if they're loose, they will tend to bind as your carabiner runs along them.

Paul,
If you’re interested in a sail/race, I usually have room for an extra person or
two.

The best sailing version is the 6.5 Ft keel with carbon mast. The 5.5 Ft keel
moved center of mast aft and drags transom a bit requiring careful attention to
keeping weight forward if racing. Very nice boats. Build quality seems very
high. If you buy one you will not regret it

I hope so. It would be fun to sail past all those tall ships, some even
older than ours.

Hi, Jessica — unfortunately, I’ve got other commitments this weekend, so can’t
make it. I went a couple of years ago; unfortunately it turned out to be an
odd August weekend with temp’s in the 50’s, and drizzly rain all weekend. This
looks like a much better weather weekend for the Tall Ships
Does anyone have pros or cons that they would like to share about this model?
Thanks

Here’s a video taken Saturday in Walker by a couple guys in a skiff:

Hi,
I’m spending much time in Newport News this fall for work related travel.
This weekend I decided to go to the local Mariners’ Museum to kill an hours or
so time. Surprisingly, I spent 5 hours there loving it.
First off, for all of August admission is only $1 (nice surprise getting
Dennis I hope everything is OK for you & yours. I haven't heard anything from
my kinfolk in Walker, but I know that area was hard hit (17" of rain in
Livingston as of Friday). Wishing for the best for all of you Louisianans.
Cheers,
Randy

Thomas Gillmer’s son Charlie and his wife Maureen are friends and neighbors of
ours. Their house is filled with beautiful half-hulls of his father’s designs.

Dave,
not a specific solution to any of your problems, but if you are dealing with
sanitation, Peggy Hall’s book (Get Rid of Boat Odors) is a very good read. It
might be the best $25 you spend on your sanitation systems (A Kindle version is
I think under $10).

HI Dave,
Not for nuthin' but, if you can hear the the vent, it is restricted and
won't be letting much air in unless there is a vacuum like the one
created by the pump. Mine was the same way when I bought my boat so I
added a second and enlarged the first using 1-1/8 SS thru hull fittings
Dennis — I was thinking about you while listening to the coverage on NPR this
morning; I’m glad you’ve been high and dry so far.

RE: Water Everywhere
Dennis, yes have seen the news as terrible as it is. Here is wishing you and
all affected the very best. Having been through several floods, the muddy
water might stain your sails so probably best to clean as quickly as you can.

Dennis, our thoughts and prayers for the families who have lost homes and have

Use the best sanitation-grade hose you can get; yes, they’re stiff, but
application of heat, either from careful use of a heat gun or very hot water,
can be used to get these hoses to bend enough for you to
Perhaps you've seen the news about the flooding in south Louisiana. It's
been bad. Lots of folks flooded out. Lots of sad stories.
The water began to enter my neighborhood in Baton Rouge early yesterday

Rick — when you get settled over this way, come to the Apostle Islands area for
