Ken Heaton was kind enough to host a web page for the 2018 Mid-Atlantic C
Rendezvous. I am the primary organizer but it is NOT my rendezvous it is
ours. As such I really only focused on the dates, venue, and promotion.
This is a great opportunity to rerequest volunteers to organize other
aspects

Yup, interesting race. Paul and I swapped driving duty. Unfortunately for
Paul, he was driving when the adjuster let loose. I hope he can save the
shirt he was wearing. It soaked up a LOT of hydraulic fluid. Pics of the
repair can be seen here:

Our Typical beercan races were 2.6 - 2.8 nm so it's 198-102= We owe them 96
sec per mile X 2.6 - 2.8 = 4:30 to 4:48 or close to 5 minutes for us LOL.
We were Typically less then 30 seconds ahead in corrected time so always a
nail biter on both sides (A tribute to how well the PHRF systems works
Congrats, Dennis! Now I owe YOU a drink… :^)

The way my RSA handicaps, 6-12 seconds slower than other RSAs, for JAM races I
rate 198 and the Catalina 27s rate 221 - I’m giving them 23 sec / nm. And my
club scores via PHRF TOT with A=715 and B=515, so boats rating <200 have time
added and boats rating >200 have time subtracted. In a

Yep I hear you on that.
There's a few Catalina 27's on my lake too with phrfs ranging from 198
-213. The 198 phrf boat is said to be an ex national champion with the
hull's gelcoat ground-off to save weight..
He's good sailor (British chap), had fresh sails, was a tough nut to
crack,
This past weekend was the Gulfport to Pensacola Race, a 100 NM offshore
sailboat race. Active list member Dennis C sailed Touche’, a C 35 mk1, over
100 NM in under 13 hrs to win 1st place in his class.
What makes this even more spectacular is the fact that at 40 NM before the
finish,
Yes and no. Not possible with these spreaders, there is a clear fore and
aft position and they only fit one way. So the only way to swap them would
be flipped over still with the leading edge forward. Also looks like
either shroud fits through either hole (clearly since it's been done).

If it’s any consolation, the Catalina 27s in my club can out-point my 30 MK I
by just a couple degrees, at least when I’m flying a 150% genoa.
