If the engine turns over at anything close to a "normal" speed then the battery is strong enough and not the problem. You can prime the engine by operating the flipper on the lift pump or by holding the decompression levers while running the starter. The decompression levers are also a way to

Keep in mind that the AGMs require somewhat different charging characteristics. Gels are more of a “drop-in” solution. Since “marine how-tos” were quoted here not so long ago, I would suggest visiting that site and doing a bit of reading there. He has plenty of info, both plus and minus about

Peter, Your problem is very likely a very small leak in your fuel system. Your starter turns until the system is primed and it will stay fine for few hours, but then air gets in again. I experienced this problem before, my leak was at the secondary fuel filter. yanmar 2 GM20F Bruno Lachance

I also use flooded. I only use Delco Voyager batteries. They seem to be a favorite of professional bass fishermen. I get 7-8 years service life for about $110 a battery. Dennis C. Touche' 35-1 #83 Mandeville, LA On Sun, Sep 22, 2019 at 8:37 PM Josh Muckley via CnC-List <

AGM can and will still off gas and overheat so for the most part they carry similar safety concerns as flooded batteries. Their biggest safety advantage is that they are "non-spillable" but really, if they spilled would it be such that anyone, most of all kids, would be exposed? Josh On Sun,
