I'm a little late for this thread...but I have two sections of my cabin sole in
the kitchen with wet polyurethane . My cabin sole wasn't too bad for 35 years
of service but had a few dings and scratches... an is a good winter project.
I'm using Minwax fast drying Polyuruthane matte finish. 4
I had a similar problem with water pooling around the rudder shaft bearing.
When I went to upgrade the starting pedestal (Edson Vision II) I found that the
cockpit sole was water saturated and delaminated. The solution was to cut out
a 2' x 2.5' section and replace it with marine plywood
