I got it out of the boat without removing the heat exchanger. The flange was bolted onto 3 studs that remained in the exhaust manifold when I removed the nuts. I lost coolant when the flange was separated from the manifold. That surprised me but it appears the system was built that way. I unwrapped

I replaced the lens on my forward hatch probably about 6 years ago. I used black Sikaflex 295uv and Sikaflex primer. Still no leaks. The primer is critical because the first time I did it I did not use the primer and it only lasted about 2 years before it leaked. I believe that I still have the ori

I got by with Capt. Tolley’s for many years, but recently my forward hatch had a leak that wouldn’t fix and a little strip of liquid rubber from West Marine painted on the outside did the trick 😊 Joe Della Barba Coquina C&C 35 MK I Kent Island MD USA From: James Hesketh via CnC

I’ve used 795 and it had a longer (and welcome) working time vs yer’ basic silicone. It cures easily within 24 hrs to be rubbery but not gooey, lovely stuff. I did have some cheap and aging GE eavestrough sealant ‘with silicone’ that would not cure properly. Thought I’d use it up but it did

Just to clarify- I am trying to figure out what the PO used, because it seems to have worked well. Where the gooey sealant was added it is not leaking. It is leaking where the extra sealant was not added. Dave S/V Aries 1990 C&C 34+ New London, CT > On Aug 22, 2021, at 11:10 AM, Joel Aron

Good luck with your boat! I recently resealed my forehatch (replaced the lens also) using Dow 795 calk and believe it'll be a long-time cure from what I've seen, read and heard of it. Jim Hesketh Whisper C&C 26 Miami, FL On Sun, Aug 22, 2021 at 10:35 AM David Knecht via CnC-List < cnc-list@cnc-l

I noticed the other day that my starboard cabin top hatch was leaking. It appeared to be coming in around the plexiglass itself. It looks like a PO had done some repair in the past, because there was a gooey black sealant on the inside of the lens clearly added on top of the seal on the outboa
