I replaced mine a few years ago and went with Northstar AGMs (Group 31). These
were highly rated then by several reviews.
They claim to be made from 'virgin' (as opposed to recycled) lead, are ~ $350
each and weigh at least 70 lbs.

Did you notice serious AH loss? That’s too bad. Batteries are getting
expensive, solar panels are getting cheap. So you can extend deep cycle
