Hello again,
I just wanted to offer an update with regard to cleaning off the old caulk,
So, I carefully scraped as much caulk as I could off with a razor
blade. 2 of the hatches are located right in the non skid! (that

Then, I got the McKanica Silicon caul
Danny:
Try using a small round wire brush on a drill..I did that on my
hatches when I removed and replaced the seals and it worked fine.did
not scratch or damage anything and did a superb job of removing and
cleaning the old adhesive from the surface(s).

Another vote for butyl tape. It depends on kind of caulk you are trying to
remove. McKanica works pretty well on Silicone. If it's a urethane caulk,
mechanical methods and Debond may work. Butyl tape will probably respond
to mineral spirits, but is easy to remove mechanically, anyway.
Good luc
ing it and cleaning up the excess.

Hello all, I'm in the process of replacing all my hatches. I've removed them
and trying to clean the surface where they bed. I have the de-bond marine
product. I applied that and scraped again but, there is still residue.
Anyone have a secret method to get that surface clean? I'm going to t
