Fred - I too have a thermostatic controlled spillover fan, but that's a
different animal.
I have two of those circulation fans in pipes -- one in the fridge, one
in the freezer. It moves air around inside each box, pulling the cold
air from the bottom and shoving it out the top. It helps to k

My 2 cents: The insulation is more important than the compressor
system, if you're looking for energy efficiency. I have the Frigoboat
system, and absolutely love it, but also believe that the Isotherm system

Right. I actually ran the wire for the circulation fans down past the
compressor, then back up to the breaker panel. The Danfoss control
module has spade connectors labelled 'fan' which normally controls the
fan for air cooled systems, and I thought that it might be more energy
efficient to o

Thanks. Now I know why I couldn't see how the box was screwed
together! I never considered the screws might be under the formica.
I'm not ready to re-do formica so cans of insulation will have to do.
I like the idea of running the wire for a fan now. It could go to the

I've got an ancient aldor-barbour unit in the lazarette, from there it
is a very short run of tubing to get into the cooler. I can't say much
about how well it works as we don't use it much, but I did (to my
dissatisfaction) freeze some beer one day...

Thanks !
I'm going to put it on its own breaker. Most people seem to put it in the
lazarete.

would need ice, so I opted for this less expensive model. I'm rarely away from

Yes, we make ice. We also cram as much frozen stuff into our little freezer
compartment as we can, and we can keep stuff frozen by keeping it directly
under the freezer box. We can be independent of stores for up to two weeks
this way and still eat quality steaks. Most of the places we like to go a
