Thanks to all for the great advice!
After 30+ years, perhaps it is time for replacements?
Can anyone comment on the working load capacity needed
I bought a pair of 40SN at Strictly Sail, Chicago. They are nice pieces
of equipment. They are my consistent use snatch blocks. My Redwing 35
doesn't have cars like the 36 so my Jib sheets go to the snatch blocks
on the inboard track.

Can anyone comment on the working load capacity needed for jib sheets for a
36-foot boat? We're not racing. I'm fond of Garhauer gear ($$!).Garhauer Marine

After I disassembly mine (7 original with the boat), I put the sheaves
and rollers in my ultrasonic reloading cleaner at 160 degrees F and ran
it for 30 minutes. All cleaned up good. Put them all back together
with a good amount of winch grease. I expect they will be good for
another 25 year
If you are unable to free up the pin on the merriman snatch blocks, there are
usually a few on eBay, just make sure of the size and style. Price ranges from
$30 to $150 for the larger ones. I've added 2 to my collection.

So far, you've gotten good advice. They are Merriman blocks. I've had
good luck taking snatch blocks apart, cleaning and lubing them. Do they
have Allen head screws?
Soak them in suggested solutions, dissaemble, clean and lube. You may need
to clean up the pin and hole with some ultra fine wet

Wilcox Crittenden? (sp?) Don't think they are still made. Does the pin
have a phillips head on one side? If so, remove and clean. Otherwise, PB

One of the block's shieves is seized; looks like it'll need new pins and
possibly a new sheive.
Any ideas who may have made this block,
