I stopped by Tunnel Drive on the west side of Canon City after my class at
mid-morning. I didn't locate the Golden-crowned Sparrow that Rich Miller
has found again this year. I did find one Rufous-crowned Sparrow on the
rocky slope behind the building at the end of the gravel road that continues
The DFO group came to Pueblo today. Charles Thornton-Kolbe led two car
loads of birders from the Denver Area, and a few other birders from Colorado
Springs and the Pueblo Area also joined in. We birded the Sunset Park
subdivision in Pueblo, then Pueblo City Park, Pueblo Reservoir, Rock Canyon,
an

A quick stop by Big Johnson Reservoir this afternoon produced an adult MEW
GULL. The reservoir is about 98% frozen but the open water is somewhat near
the parking area for a change.
