Today we also saw the Beautiful Snowy Owl. What a treat !
Now some observations..
We have not been birding much in the last two years, but I decided this was a
good way to start birding again.
Please, give the Owl room. If your optics are not good enough, borrow optics
from som
Our Short-eared Owl returned tonight-we were out back at dusk hoping
to "see" one hovering instead we got to hear one "barking" (http://
www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Short-eared_Owl/sounds) probably less than
100-200 feet from our back landing.

easily generalized to being applicable to observing and photographing all

Very interesting that van was from South Suburban Parks and Rec. Probably
embarrassing for them to have their logo "parked" illegally (and unethically).
So, I suppose another thing "not to do" is use a logo-ed vehicle!
