In the neighborhood of my cabin in NW Custer County we have had an unusually
large number of Cassin's Finches throughout the summer that have produced a
concomitant amount of fledglings. This morning a neighbor called me to

This summer at Bear Creek Lake Park outside of Morrison in Jefferson
County there was an male Indigo Bunting in the area west and south of
Skunk Hollow Picnic area. There was a male indigo/Lazuli cross along
the Cottonwood Trail just west of the lake. Both birds were seen on
numerous occa

Northern Bobwhite has been present at Rabbit Mountain, very near your
sighting, pretty much continuously since 7/1. The bird I've seen there is an
adult male, possibly an Eastern type. I could hear it calling today while
hiking the Eagle Wind trail on the Eastern side of RM

flew across the road from some Lodgepoles.I have never

There are two vultures feeding on the carcass of a young raccoon that was
killed on Weld County Road 5. It is near the intersection of CR 5 and CR 32, on

I was in the San Luis Valley over the weekend visiting family. We spent
Saturday night camping at Trujillo Meadows Campground (Highway 17 between
Antonito CO and Chama NM). The woods around camp site 38 were full of
American Three-toed Woodpeckers. Also seen at this location were Red
Crossbill, Rub
Glenn Walbek went to the Plum Creek delta of Chatfield Reservoir and
took some photos. Glenn identified these birds as juv. Long-billed
Curlews due to the buffy coloration and the cinnamon underwings. The
birds were last seen on the marina sandspit.

property in the Wet Mountains in Custer County, at 9,050 feet in elevation.

Water level is dropping at Timnath Res in Timnath Colorado just east of Fort
Collins. Best view of the reservoir is from the the municipal park on the west

twice two nights ago and again both yesterday and this morning.
