CObirders,
Diane Carter and I went to this area hoping for a warbler-fall out after the
NW winds of yesterday. It was quite cold, even at 8 am, and nothing was
moving or chipping except for Wilson's Warblers, which seemed to be
everywhere. Finally, other species emerged and a partial list is
Hello,

Hi COBirders,
If you haven't heard about the landscaping project at CBR this summer, this is
just a warning - it looks very different around the banding station. A crew
has been destroying most of the olives outside the traditional grove, so that
as of today, no olives stand between the
I am posing this as a question rather than a sighting with any great degree
of certainty, if anyone could advise me on whether a Winter Wren has any
degree of likelihood in Colorado in the first week of September, I would
appreciate it.
This afternoon at apx. 2:30 pm I was walking along the
John Drummond and I searched all of Cherry Creek Reservoir for 90 minutes
before he spotted the Long-tailed Jaeger again about 2:30 PM today, 9/7.
It was near the giant tower structure of the dam, ie, northeast
corner. It's seeming absence for hours at a time may be due to
sojourns at nearby
On Sunday(9/5), 3 Sandhill Cranes were reported flying near Mosca, CO.
On Monday (9/6), I counted 16 Turkey Vultures at roost at 6:30 p.m. at Del
Norte.

To post to this group,
The long-tailed jaeger did a 5-minute loop of the northern half of the
reservoir at about 4:15 this afternoon, seen well from the Lake Loop. Last
seen flying high towards the northwest corner of the reservoir. Over at
Chatfield, the Little Gull was still present as of 2:15. Sabine's Gulls
I had the same thought as Todd D, seeing a common nighthawk swoop over our
yard Monday afternoon as the smoke clouds were roiling up (hadn't seen a
CoNi here for weeks): have others noticed possible displacements from the
foothills? Of course, this would all be pure speculation: I saw two CONIs
About 8 other birders including myself just saw the Little Gull off the swim
beach. Thanks to all who posteed helped me find this killer Lifer!!!

I really swore I was going to stay in Kansas on this last trip to SW
Kansas but somehow we ended up in the Cottonwood/Carrizo Canyon area for
a few hours last Saturday afternoon. There were not too many noteworthy
migrants but we did have a Cordilleran Flycatcher near the picnic area.
About
Hi all,
A few minutes ago a Merlin flew through my yard and was quickly chased by
magpies. However, the magpies were no match for the falcon.

To post to this group,
Birders,
As reported the Little Gull put in an appearance off the swim beach from
about 5:30 until after 6. There were also no fewer than 7 Sabine's Gulls in
the area with at least 1 being an adult with a hood. The juv Little Gull
put on quite a show.

Here's a somewhat belated report from the past few days.
Sunday, Sept. 5th. Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County. The night flight in the
2am hour was the heaviest yet this season. Just the Wilson's Warblers were
flying over at 80 per hour. When Andrew and I went back to bed at
