Found a goldfinch nest with at least three nestlings on Ft. Carson yesterday
nor far from the Wildlife Office in El Paso County. It was 42 when I arrived

It was a hot and windy day of banding at Chico Basin Ranch on Wednesday. We
caught many more leaves (seemed like thousands) than birds (43). Wilson’s
Warbler was finally bumped out of the top spot by Hermit Thrush, though the two
tied on Thursday.

At about 9:30 this morning, we stumbled on a Long Eared Owl at Cherry Creek
State Park, in the wooded area east of the Lake Loop and closer to the
reservoir.
