In today's Pueblo Chieftain, page 5A, is a full-page coverage of Southern
Colorado water and wildlife conservation featuring Arkansas Valley Audubon

I was finally able to bring myself, my scope, and the female/imm. Black
Scoter into alignment this morning at Baseline Res. The bird was in the NE
area of the reservoir, up towards the remaining ice, but best visible from
the SW corner along Cherryvale Rd when I was scanning at about 10:30. The

Chatfield state park. The wren was on the douglas county side below the dam. We

I've got what appears to be an immature male Bullock's still visiting my
feeders. One dark photo made my heart jump as it appeared to be a Streak-backed
- but it wasn't.
Darn.
It's very sneaky - I've been watching my feeders intently and still have only
seen it once! I love my WingScapes

Joe Roller and I went down to Fountain Creek Park to look for the
reported Pine Warbler and Winter Wren.
Both were successfully refound today.
Pine Warbler was 1st found 20 yards from the parking lot ( north end of
the park) along the river, and refound again 100 yards south on the
trails.
We had THREE Ferruginous Hawks in driveway this morning competing over
fresh rabbit roadkill. Pretty neat, photos here:

Not as good as last year where we had SEVEN of them fighting over
prairie dog kills down the road from house on a Raptor Alley trip.
