I was at the Poudre River and ponds west of 35th Avenue in Greeley and saw a mute swan, lots of snowy egrets, some gadwalls, a great egret, some terns I could not quite ID for sure, GB herons, several BC night herons and some geese. Nothing spectacular, but an enjoyable walk. Rick Reeser Greeley

Last week end I crused past Union Reservoir to check whether grebes successfully bred there this year. There were >500 Aechmophorus grebes in east-central portions of the reservoir, at least 30 or 40 with young, some quite small. I'm not sure how management of the water has changed, but prior to
