Saw some previous discussion on this. It is my understanding that birders using
SWA DO NOT need to have a Habitat Stamp in their possession. This requirement
that everyone must have one was lifted a year or so ago. (For me it matters not
as I am a sportman and have to get one with my licenses an
Lisa and I did a quick trip to the refuge this morning. A good number of Cranes
are in as well as Cackling and Canada Geese, Pintail, mallards and hawks. Birds
are spread out and many more Cranes are likely in the eastern San Luis Valley
which did not receive nerarly the snow we had on the west
