Today, I decided to try Denver West Business Park. I usually visit this place
later in the fall when the Yellow-rumped Warblers flock up and sometimes have
something good mixed in. I ran into a pretty good mixed flock near the small

Slowest day of the season - only 7 new birds. We were rewarded with a
rarity - a Palm Warbler (Western). There have been 4 captured at Barr prior
to this one (2005, 2001, 1996, 1993). Here's today's very short list:

Orange-crowned Warbler1
Western Palm
The first week of banding in Grand Junction went very well. The nets are
in new locations this year, and it is making a big difference. We have the
nets set up in mature Skunkbrush/Rabbitbrush, and we are catching lots of
White-crowned Sparrows. As a scientist, this makes me happy, because
