Thanks for the update (I've let the Kansas birders know, that were waiting to
see if there was late in the sighting of it or not). If there is a little seed
left, tomorrow early morning, would be people's best bet on seeing it. After
that, who knows. Good luck everyone who is still hoping to

I saw it this afternoon at 4:25pm. A very small group of us got a nice
look as it came to the bridge 3 times in about a 5 minute time span. As I
was leaving the area just after the sunset, a woman told me she had gotten
one more good look at 4:45pm. She said it stayed on the bridge for about
Did anyone see the bird after the 10:20am sighting today? I've heard it wasn't
around in the afternoon. There are still people hoping to see this bird, so
any updates would be helpful. If it is around tomorrow morning, please report
it, as soon as possible.

Happy Thanksgiving!
While watching the Brambling , a park ranger drove up and posted a "Do NOT feed
the birds" sign. Any seed deposits will now have to be made clandestinely . As
one of the group observed, you could fill your pockets and let it trickle down

What a grateful morning! I saw the Brambling at Bear Lake and took a few
photos. Always good to have two sightings, the first to absorb the moment and
the second to capture it.
I currently do not have a place to share photos (coming soon), but if you like,
I can email a copy. Please request to

Observers arrived just before 7 a.m. this morning at the Brambling spot at
Bear Creek Lake Park in Jefferson County. The bird not appeared and it was
around 7:40 or so someone whose name I did not catch brought some much
needed seed. It was spread and we continued to monitor the birds
I called the park yesterday and was told the gate would open to vehicles at 8
a.m. - no special plans to open early.
As far as I know, walk and bike-in access is always free and pretty much always
