I had a little time this morning to look around Pueblo Reservoir. Out from
North Picnic Road on the lake looking east, there was the wintering
Red-throated Loon, and two probably spring migrant Ruddy Ducks (I hadn't seen
any this year, until now). Off Sailboard lauching area on the
The RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was at Pathfinder Park near Florence this morning
exactly where Brandon described it. Tunnel Drive was very birdy. Had
RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROW, ROCK WREN and CANYON TOWHEE all in the same binocular
view. There were two GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE at the pond at
Todd Deininger and I toured the greater Longmont area today and found (or
refound) a few nice birds. Basically, redheads cover most open water with
other diving ducks also in strong numbers. At the Firestone Gravel Ponds NE of
119 and I-25 (Weld) we found the pair of Red-necked Grebes noted
Our feeders have been exceptionally busy the last few days with as many at
50-60 Pinyon Jays coming in - especially in the morning
A pair of Lewis's Woodpeckers has been in the neighborhood for some
time...but yesterday one started coming to our backyard feeders! It is one

At around 10 AM this morning, among the scattered yucca stalks, there were
6 Mountain Bluebirds on the western slope of Mt Carbon. This is located in
the SE corner of the park. About 30 minutes later, I retraced my steps and
scoured the hillside for the bluebirds, but none were found.
Hi all, I found 6 Greater Scaup at lake Henry today. This lake is on W. Quincy.
From the intersection of Quincy and S. Wadsworth, go west on Quincy about 2
blocks worth. On the north side, next to the road is Lake Henry. There were too

While I was out on a ride on the bicycle during this gorgeous day, I spotted
two Bohemian Waxwings near Waneka Lake, where High Country Dr. intersects with
Waneka Lake Dr. The pair seemed completely free of concern regarding my
presence, as I watched them for a solid fifteen minutes
